"I think we need to
sit back and see what
really is going on
in our government."
Judy Schneider Koresh
& Mayannah Schneider

Steve Schneider: What is your name?

Judy: My name is Judy Schneider Koresh, and this is my daughter Mayannah. And as you can see, I was wounded when the ATF came in and assaulted us. I was quite surprised to see our government act the way it did in that David went to the door with his hands up and said, "Don't shoot, there's women and children in here." And yet they opened fire, and fired at everyone here. I don't really expect anyone to jump on our bandwagon right now or believe what we believe after just hearing little bits and pieces. I've been in the Message since 1986 studying with David and [I've] just learned some astounding things. I just think now we need to sit back and see what really is going on in our government. That's the whole thing that we're upset with right now, and we're waiting on God for an answer about what we should do.

Steve: Can I see a close-up of your finger? If you'll hold it still, let me zoom in on your finger. Okay, don't move it, hold it right there ... Okay, what happened there with your finger? You were just sitting there? I was told you were nursing the baby? What was it?

Judy: Yeah, I was just sitting there with my hand sort of like this, and bullets were coming in our window, a lot of our clothing was damaged from the bullets, and I'm glad we weren't, more than this.

Judy Koresh's hand wound.

Steve: That's a very fat finger you have there.

Judy: Yeah, it's kind of swollen. I just spoke to a doctor on the phone. He said it's quite dangerous. He thought I should come out and get treatment. But I asked him why doesn't he come in here, because I don't really trust what they might do out there as far as holding a person hostage.

Steve: Were you hurt any other place, or did you have any other injuries?

Judy: Right, I was just sitting here kind of like, I'm not exactly sure it happened so fast, but at any rate it went up this finger, into my hand and out my shoulder.

Steve: Okay. What brought you here in the first place to Waco, Texas?

Judy: To study, with David.

Steve: Okay, and a question that everybody wants to know, do you want to leave, are you being held here against your will ...

Judy: I want to leave when God says go, but no, I don't want to go out there on my own without David, and everyone else, the rest of my family here. We're all family.

Steve: So no one's holding you here against your will?

Judy: No one would be holding anyone here [Judy laughs] against their will.

Steve: Okay, were you able to see a video that the agency sent to us showing some of the children that were at their facilities wherever they're at?

Judy: The video we saw today of them running around crazily, eating candy, drinking soda pop, jumping around like wild maniacs, watching videos and ... Yeah, we were all quite upset to see our children behave like that, because they've always been well-mannered and disciplined, and they don't eat candy in between meals, and only on rare occasions. It's not good for your teeth or health or anything.

Steve: So you see it as being a cause of hyperactivity in children?

Judy: Right. We love the kids, they can't help the way they're being cared for. I guess that's the only thing the people out there really know to do.

Steve: Is there anything else you'd like to say to the American people or to anybody that's on the outside, your family, maybe, your friends ...

Judy: Well, I love you, Mom, of course, you know that, and I love all my family, and I just hope everyone doesn't jump to making decisions before they've heard our side. Because right now, all you're hearing is the press. You're hearing a very perverted press. They're not allowed to broadcast live, it has to be taped, and it has to be cut out, and changed, or all kinds of lies ... I mean, like the lady holding up a bullet -- "This is what the ATF used and this is what we used," and I'm, like, "Wow, I never saw one of those before!" I mean, so many lies, so many lies. They change their stories all the time. You just need to trust God. I mean, trust God, read your Bible and know what you're talking about. What are you doing with your life? What do you do every day with your life? Is it something God approves of? I mean, before you judge us, make sure your own life is clean. Would you want your life broadcast from the day you were in high school, what you did, who you went out with, you know. I mean, we're being stripped naked, so let's make sure that when that happens to you, you're ready, too.

Steve: Are there any final comments you'd like to make?

Judy: I think that was it.

Steve: Okay, well, thanks much. What about Mayannah? Does she want to say anything?

Judy: Mayannah, do you want to say hello to your Grandma? Grandpa? And your Aunt Sue? Wave, wave to them. Say, "See y'all soon." [Mayannah waves.]

Steve: Okay, thank you. We're going to someone else.
